2014 marks the 450th birthday of the world’s greatest playwright, William Shakespeare
With special events taking place throughout the year in his birthplace of Stratford-upon-Avon, Ettington Park Hotel part of the Hand Picked Hotels collection of country house hotels across the UK, is offering an exclusive Shakespeare package for visitors.
From £350 per two people during 2014, the two-night package includes a three-course dinner on both evenings, accommodation in a classic bedroom and full breakfast on both mornings. Taking place during the weekend of Shakespeare’s birthday, 26-27th April, Stratford-upon-Avon will host a celebration, a vibrant mix of pageantry and performance. A grand birthday procession will parade through the town, followed by a community parade where spectators can join costumed players, musicians and creative groups to celebrate this milestone anniversary. There will also be a programme of special events and activities at Shakespeare’s homes, with free entertainment in the streets and the parks of Stratford.
