Children
Many of our rooms have space for children, but this is subject to availability and the number of rooms suitable for children of different ages will vary by hotel.
We apply the following policies with regard to children sharing their parents’ rooms, where space permits:
- Children aged 3 and under stay and dine for free.
- Children from 4 to 11 years receive complimentary bed & breakfast at all hotels. Other meals will be charged at 50% of the adult price or as priced on the children’s menu.
- Children from 12 to 17 years will be charged between £20-£25 for bed & breakfast depending on the rate type booked and the adult price for all other meals as taken.
Additional charges for children staying in parents’ rooms are included in the daily room rate unless stated otherwise.
Any children in their own room pay the full adult price for bed & breakfast, with the policies shown above applied to all other meals taken.
Children are welcome to use our swimming pools (where available), but there may be specific child swimming times that can be found on the hotel pages of our website.
Room bookings always need to be made by adults aged 18 or over.

Child-friendly hotels
At Hand Picked Hotels, children are just as important to us as their parents. We provide big comfort for little legs, from VIP mini dressing gowns to complimentary milk and cookies before bed. And for tiny ones, we have all the equipment you would expect to find in your home away from home, including cots, high chairs, changing mats and bottle warmers.
Children under 12 stay for free
Not only do we strive to make your family break as comfortable as possible, we also welcome children under 12 to stay for free. With many family bedrooms and suites across the collection there is plenty of space for everyone.
Wholesome family fun
You will find selected hotels with swimming pools, tennis courts, giant chess and all have classic indoor and outdoor games for you and your loved ones to enjoy, including backgammon, giant chess, croquet, Frisbee, badminton and boules.
Our partnerships with fellow family-owned, British brands Joules (whose characterful clothing and accessories feature in our hotels) and Jaques of London (the oldest games company in the world) mean you enjoy the best of the best when it comes to family fun.
