When it comes to vibrant cities, Bradford offers Victorian industrial heritage, grand parks and a grand cathedral, while Leeds boasts museums, galleries, restaurants and shopping centres. If you are more of a country bumpkin than a city slicker, then the tranquillity and rural charm of the peaks, moors and dales will be probably more your thing.
From the Pennine trails and cycle ways to the three national parks, it is also worth trying the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, National Trust site Hardcastle Crags and certified RSPB area Fairburn Ings for a memorable day out.
